CLEVELAND, OH--- Guardians pitchers, and a LONG overdue hit from catcher Mike Zunino, helped propel the team past the visiting White Sox 3-0 Monday night, the White Sox were on a hot streak coming in, winning 5 out of their last 6 games. Mike Clevenger was scheduled to make his return to Progressive Field, but was is on the 15-day IL due to an inflamed right wrist.

Jimmy Lambert was the "starter" for the White Sox, Lambert only pitched 1 inning tonight as he is primarily a bullpen arm, fun fact Lambert has made 5 career starts, with 3 of those against Cleveland. Pitching on both sides was dominant for a majority of the game, with Cleveland starter Hunter Gaddis having a phenomenal start throwing 6 shut out innings, only giving up 2 hits while striking out 4 Chicago batters. He was relived by Sam Hentges and Nick Sandlin sharing the 7th inning, who combined only gave up 1 hit. Trevor Stephan pithed the 8th striking out 2, with Emmanuel Clase coming in and getting the save. The first and only run of the game for awhile came via a wild pitch from Jesse Scholten, allowing Gabriel Arias to come home in the 2nd inning. That was the only downside of Scholten's' outing, going 5 innings only giving up 2 hits. The big run and hit of the game came in the 7th, finally a bright spot for the Cleveland catching position with Mike Zunino going opposite field with a 2 run home run to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Guardians continue their 6 game home stand Tuesday night with the White Sox staying in town, 6:10 first pitch and as always it will air on your flagship Newsradio WTAM 1100 AM, 106.9 FM, the free iHeartRadio app, and HERE
