Turtle Living In Museum Gets “Foot” Made Using Legos And A Dog Harness

A turtle at a Halifax, Nova Scotia, museum has a new foot thanks to some Legos.

The wood turtle, named Root, came to the Halifax museum in September from the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, and his front right foot was missing which caused his shell to drag when he walked.

One of the museum's naturalist interpreters came up with a solution inspired by a Lego exhibit at the facility in December.

They used a small dog harness, a Lego platform and Lego wheels to create a “foot” for Root's right side.

Now Root cruises around on his Lego helper and his shell isn’t getting damaged anymore.
