Earlier this week, Oregon State Police trooper Aaron Allemann safely escorted a mother duck and her ducklings across the busy southbound lanes of Interstate 205 just outside Oregon City.
He stopped traffic and used his hat to guide the ducks through a break in the highway barriers, helping them reach a nearby slough by the Clackamas River.
A waiting driver recorded the heartwarming rescue, which later circulated online.
Thanks to Trooper Allemann, the family of ducks was unharmed and successfully guided away from the dangerous freeway.
