Pamela Howard-Thorton of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, recently won $80,000 on a scratch-off lottery ticket she’d accidentally thrown away. Using money from a previous win, she purchased four $5 Flamingo Bingo scratch-offs at a gas station in Lebanon Junction. After forgetting about them all day, she scratched three losing tickets and tossed them in the trash before realizing one was missing.
Late that night, she searched through the trash and found the fourth ticket. After scratching it and then scanning it on the lotto app, Pamela realized it was a big winner. "I started crying, and I started shouting and screaming," she says, recalling the emotional moment.
She immediately called her daughter and mother to share the good news. Her mother, who’d always wished to see her daughter win big, was especially thankful and happy. After taxes, the lucky lady took home over $57,000!
