Last summer was a bummer for many people but for those who were single quarantine put a damper on their love life. Match.com polled 2,000 singles for their "Summer of Love" survey and it seems that many are looking ahead at summer with a positive attitude.
After a long year of staying indoors 70% of singles say they plan on putting themselves out there as much as possible this summer. 69% say they are more confident in what they are looking for in a potential mate and 71% are interested in looking for a relationship.
On the other hand, 52% of potential matches are not looking for anything serious. 65% of singles say hookups and casual sex are not something they are looking for but 35% are open to the idea. The one thing that all singles could agree upon was, whether in a relationship or just some summer fun, they all want - sex. In fact, more than half of the people surveyed said they want to have sex this summer.
Of course, people who are ready to date are taking vaccines into consideration. The poll found that 46% of people are not willing to date in real life until they are fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, 56% saying they are somewhat concerned about their date being vaccinated.
Either way it seems that people are starting to see the light and the end of the tunnel and are excited for the opportunity to have a love filled summer!
