Road Tripping

As the holiday weekend fast approaches many people are getting ready to head out onto the roads. A new poll done by AAA finds that Memorial Day weekend travel is expected to rebound. 37 million people saying they will be traveling this year. Last year, only 23 million actually got in the car to go on an adventure. This number is still far fewer than how many folks traveled in 2019.

As far as where they are going, 34 million people say they will be heading on a road trip this year. Only 2.5 million say they plan on flying to their destination of choice. Which is almost six times as many as last year.

Not many people plan on traveling by bus or train. Only about 237,000 people plan to use this mode of transportation to head to their destination.

Based upon AAA Travel bookings and TripTik searches, they say that Las Vegas and Orlando are the top two road trip travel spots people plan on cruising to this year. Followed by Myrtle Beach, Denver and Nashville.
