Singles Are Looking For More Than A One Night Stand

The past year of the pandemic has had everyone looking at life in a different way, especially people who are single. A poll done by Plenty of Fish shows that singles are ready for physical intimacy again. Actually 42% of singles are ready to meet new matches but two-thirds of them say that they plan on connecting virtually still through video chats (61%), sexting (54%) and phone sex (47%).

This past year has changed 64% of singles views on what intimacy is. Emotional or intellectual intimacy is what 57% of singles are looking for in a relationship with 45% of singles finding physical connection less important.

Half of singles say they think one-night stands are a thing of the past and surprisingly more men than women believe that (61% vs. 45%). One good thing is that 45% of people say they are more confident in their virtual sex journey than they are in person. One thing we know that is not going away at time soon is, sexting. 61% of singles say that it will be more popular than ever before.

During lockdown most (76%) were involved in a friends with benefits situation with 85% of them turning to their roommate for intimacy.
