Things You Should And Should Not Do At The Beach

Summer time is when many people flock to the nearest body of water for beach day fun. We have all had or experienced a ruined day tainted by someone else's actions. Some people are not as respectful as they could be while partying at the beach. Here are a few things you should and shouldn't do while there to not disturb others around you.

On a good hot day the beach can fill up fast. Some beachgoers are saying they would like to maintain social distancing while hanging out at the beach. Everyone loves a little personal space to make them feel at ease.

Make sure you clean up after yourself. The beach is a public place meant for everyone to enjoy. If you have spent the day there you are bound to wind up with trash at the end. Be respectful and leave your area the way you found it.

Don't feed the seagulls! They are not very friendly birds and once they are fed they do not want to leave.

If you are a smoker, be courteous to others by stepping away from your blanket on the beach to indulge in that cigarette. Some beaches have now banned smoking on the beach and have designated areas you can smoke. Also, make sure you are not leaving your butts in the sand to be found by the next folks trying to enjoy the beach.

Shaking out your towel, sheet or blanket is a must before you leave. Just be aware of the people around you while you get rid of the pesky sand so you are not flinging it on them.

Music is a great addition to a fun day at the beach but make sure you are mindful of the volume. Not everyone listens to the same music as you do and some people might enjoy hearing the sounds of nature rather than your tunes.

If you or your kids have been enjoying digging in the sand to create castles, moats or bury people make sure you fill any holes you have created. Nobody wants to twist and ankle falling into a hole you did not fill.
