Daryl Hall and John Oates have privately resolved their legal dispute through arbitration, ending a bitter split over Oates’ attempt to sell his half of their Whole Oats Enterprises partnership.
Hall previously accused Oates of the “ultimate partnership betrayal,” claiming he was blindsided and feared the sale would cause “unimaginable” harm to their assets.
He also described Oates’ recent conduct as “adversarial and aggressive,” while Oates called Hall’s statements “inflammatory, outlandish, and inaccurate.”
Neither side disclosed the arbitration’s outcome, and lawyers for both declined comment, but lawyers for Hall wrote “the claims have been adjudicated in arbitration. Given the entry of final judgment in arbitration, plaintiffs will be contemporaneously filing a notice of voluntary dismissal with the court” in a status report filed this week.
The judge had paused the sale of Oates’ stake until arbitration concluded.
