It Might Be Time To Replace Your Reusable Water Bottle

Your trusty reusable water bottle isn’t meant to last forever; cracks, funky smells, discoloration, or a lid that won’t seal are all signs it’s time to toss it.

Over time, even water (and especially acidic drinks) can break down the material, while sugary mixes invite bacteria and mold to set up camp.

Stainless steel bottles can last around three years and plastic bottles about one, but regular deep cleaning to scrub away slimy biofilm is key to keeping them safe.

Bottom line: a little upkeep goes a long way, but don’t be afraid to replace your bottle when it starts showing its age.
