Fort Worth police released dramatic video showing officers and bystanders lifting an SUV to rescue a one-year-old girl trapped underneath after a crash last Thursday morning. The child and her mother had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and officers and civilians worked together to lift the SUV.
After finding the child, Sergeant R. Nichols immediately started CPR. Moments later, the baby showed signs of life with a hum and then a cry. Officer Buddy Calzada says their training guided them through the high-pressure rescue.
Both mother and baby were transported to the hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. On social media, Fort Worth Police Chief Eddie Garcia called the officers heroes, adding, “Our prayers are with this little angel as a full recovery is expected.”
